Sonja Laaser is a lawyer and freelance dramaturge who lives and works in Berlin. After graduating from law school, she completed her legal clerkship at the Cultural Affairs Department of the Berlin Senate Chancellery and in an internationally operating law firm specialized in copyright law. Following her master degree in dramaturgy at Ernst Busch acting school, she frequently works as dramatic advisor. An overview of her dramaturgical work can be found here.
Additionally to establishing ArtiBerlin, an art magazine for the independent theatre community, she acted as managing director of Ballhaus Ost until 2011. Her numerous contacts in Berlin’s diverse creative networks function as base for her profound client consultations. In regular workshops she provides practical assistance in areas such as ‘starting a business’ and contract design as well as copyright and tax law. Her clients and cooperation partners include the regional associations LAFT Berlin, laPROF Hessen and LaFT BW, the Kulturprojekte Berlin GmbH and Plattform Kulturelle Bildung Brandenburg.
She has successfully completed the theoretical part of the training program ‘Specialized Lawyer for Copyright and Media Law’ at Humboldt University Berlin in 2017. Since November 2018, Kanzlei Laaser is located at Niebuhrstr. 71 in Berlin-Charlottenburg.
